CIS Refunds

Excess of CIS tax suffered over PAYE and CIS payable

Didn't find your answer?

Haven't done one of these for a few years.

What's the best way to submit a claim ?  Is it still by letter to the CIS place ? Or can it be done online ?

Oooh, it can now be done online, I wasn't aware of that.

Follow the link in the article and you get the GG, log in and the form is there ready to fill in.

Got one to do myself soon so that's handy.

Many thanks for posting, but that link seems to be to apply for advance funding, I was looking for an online form to request repayment for SMP paid in a previous tax year.

Sorry - I've never done that. Always either applied for advance funding or carried the overpayment through to the new year.

It is nice that you can do it online now. However, HMRC still do whatever the hell they want. I recently made a request for a CIS refund to be transferred to a CT account, however there was a PAYE liability coming up which they restricted the CIS transfer by (before the due date of the 22nd). Absolutely ridiculous.

Last years requests for a set off against CT payable was first one I made and I just rang up employers helpline and the Collector
