Claiming scale rate payments working abroad

Can a sole director claim scale rate for working abroad

Didn't find your answer?

For one person companies, the accounts I prepare always reflected the actual spend - taxis, hotels, food etc would be paid for thru a company bank card and treated as travel and subsistence

A client has asked if he can use the scale rate to reimburse himself from his company and not put thru actual expense

Some of the scale rates are pretty generous, the european country he is visiting has a scale rate of over 300 euros per day, and reality is that his customer will be arranging low cost accommodation for him

The foreign assignment is not for a few days, it is almost 2 months

Make sure you check out that the basis is correct if someone else is picking up any costs:-
