Claiming VAT using a home address

VAT on expenses

Didn't find your answer?

HI, Can we claim the VAT on an expense if the invoice is addressed to the person's home address and they have bought the goods for the sole purpose of the business?

Thank you.

Sole trader or Company?
How much is the invoice for?
Is this a "full" VAT invoice?
Director (or proprietor) making the purchase?
Do we take it that the business has a different address?
Pre-trading expense? If so, how long ago?

All valid questions asked by the others.

Is this an employee working from home and has gone and bought goods they need to do their job, like a new webcam or is this a sole trader operating from home?
