Client doesn't know Ltd Co UTR?

Online service from HMRC

Came across this today, so thought it worth a heads up.

Needed to phone HMRC this morning to get UTR for new Ltd Co. Young lady on the helpline that it had been sent out on 10th October but they would send again.

She then informed me of an online service that will do this for you if it's a Ltd Co.

Great, and saves 20 minutes on phone waiting to get through.

Is it me, or have HMRC stopped sending out the "letter for new companies".

Last 2 set up, client doesn't seem to have it, and the formation system with Companies House, now asks about trading start date and CT61's.

Ltd Co was set up on 8th October, and when I enquired today whether UTR had been sent out I was told it was, on the 10th October. Client says he hasn't received it though.

We are still receiving them. Got a couple this week.
Inexplicably, they now sent two single sided sheets of paper rather than a double sided one.
The environment is clearly not on their list of concerns.

Environment is only important when raising fuel duties.

If it were, there'd be no fracking because why would we need more oil ?

He possibly asked some creepy sounding questions whilst he was on. Wonder if he knows what she was wearing?

She sounded young. An assumption on my part I agree.

Young being a relative term, the older you get the more it tends to the inevitable that anyone you speak to is young.

What I'm saying is, legerman has today outed himself as an old codger.
