Cloud Accounting

Change of business model?

Didn't find your answer?

Hello

I have recently moved my own bookkeeping over to FreeAgent in order to learn how to use the system with a view to recommending it to clients.

I wondered how other Accountants who offer cloud accounting services charge for their time. I was considering moving to quarterly invoicing or monthly direct debits for clients who come on board as I would effectively be providing services on more of a real time basis throughout the year.

Another issue is the fees that FreeAgent would charge me for each client on a monthly basis. I am interested to know if other Accountants simply pass on these costs to clients and again, if so, are they simply added to monthly/quarterly invoices?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Many Thanks.

So you've decided that this is the system to recommend to your clients, despite the fact that you haven't learned it yet.

Normally the decision to recommend something would come out of knowing it before hand, and knowing the needs of the individual client.

But never mind, I'm sure it'll all be fine.

Ok, I'll rephrase my original post.
Having spent some time researching cloud accounting software I decided to try out FreeAgent.
I am happy with my decision and since my free trial I have moved my own books and records over to FreeAgent.
I have spent time learning how to use the software and know that it is suitable for my client base. I will be happy to recommend it to clients who may be considering moving to cloud accounting. (Other cloud accounting software is available).

You may want to consider subscribing to IRIS OpenBooks which is FreeAgent under IRIS's banner. It can be cheaper.

Thank you SteveOH. I will certainly take a look.

Any advice on how you may have restructured your fees when altering your business model?
