Cloud accounting with user backup?

Didn't find your answer?

Does anyone know of a cloud accounting system that allows the user to make his own backups, and restore them if he wishes? I have steered clear of cloud accounting, as none of the systems I know of have this facility. It is essential, as we all know what disastrous things clients can do to their data, so there has to be a way of restoring from an earlier date.

What would you be looking to restore the data into?

If the 'cloud' is down there is little that you could do with a backup of the same.

It may be pertinent to store appropriate human readable (PDF?) documents at relevant times.

EDIT - I see you are asking about 'client' disasters rather than 'provider' disasters.

Indeed, the backup would be for when a client messes things up badly, and one needs to restore to a point where it was okay. The provider itself being down would be a different issue.

The Kashflow system we use has the facility to schedule a monthly email of a csv file with all the data.
This can be sent to the client or the accountant.

Never had to use it thankfully!

I doesn't sound like that would fit my need, as I want to be able to upload and overwrite existing data, not just save data or add it to existing data.

You could create a hosted app using Microsoft Server technology that backups every hour allowing you to restore within seconds.

All this shows is a basic, laughable, misunderstanding of how cloud systems work in general. Maybe hire a computer technician you are so very clearly out of your depth.
