We are conducting a feasibility study in to appointing an expereinced commercial finance broker as an employee in order to advise our clients on suitable commercial finance. We are an ACCA registered audit firm but don't hold the investment business or equivalent qualification. We've spoken to ACCA and ICAEW aroudn additional regulation but they were slightly unsure how to proceed hence researching on here.
The work we would look to complete would be advising on the right types of funding (loans, equity and invoice finance) for businesses only - we wouldnt be advising on insurnances, pensions, investments, etc of course.
Obviously PI, engagement letters, etc require some thought but is anyone aware of any further regulation that exists in carrying out this activity?
