Am I missing something. When did Companies House stop issuing Confirmation Statement letters or emails. I got a very rude letter sent to my office (not the registered office) for a company with a threat of the company being struck off and then yesterday a client told me he hadn't got reminders. Both his and my own company's confirmation statements were overdue. It seems that we will now have to diarise the dates and notify all of our clients when they are due. Is this what others are doing?

I signed all my client companies up to email reminders. You can have up to four email addresses. I made sure I had one and at least one director too.
Free service from Companies House.
I signed them up to PROOF as well.
I've been surprised more than once that folk aren't doing both these as a matter of routine as part of the on boarding process.
As regards the rude reply, point out that compliance is the director's job.
Unless you've agreed to take it on in your engagement letter, in which case, sorry, yes, it's your fault. No need for rudeness. though.
It's been over a year now. From what I can see, any money saved on postage sending out the reminders is spent on sending out said letters advising it is now late but it might drum up a bit more fees for administrative restorations.
The letters saying urgent action is required in red across the top when the filing date wasn’t imminent annoyed me - so all my clients are signed up to Proof and we get email reminders.
However we don’t need them since we have all the dates in our practice management system.
Were you only relying on the letters?
I had not even noticed
But I had noticed less emails from clients saying that Companies house were looking to strike them off on a letter dated weeks before the statement could be filed using the normal date
I thought clients had learned to ignore them. We used a simple spreadsheet checked twice a month.
Just would not notice if mine did not arrive
BUT literally today I received a companies house letter for one of the 6 that we are a registered office for on a late (deliberately letting get struck off as no longer needed) and I would have noticed if the first old system letter had arrived as I am the letter opener
WE never request strike of. We let Co House do it. Less risk of error or a change of mind that is too late to fix
We received a paper letter for every company for which we are the registered office, advising of the cessation of this service, in November 2020.
I haven't signed up for e-mail reminders but do have everyone's dates on a monthly schedule.
I actually prefer it that there are no "reminder" letters sent out. The way that the original letters were drafted , including use of red ink, frequently caused clients to believe that the returns were overdue when in fact they couldn't even be filed at that stage.
Although we have sufficient internal controls to prevent missing any deadlines, we did sign up to the Companies House email reminder service which actually works very well.
From what I can see, an email reminder is generated about one minute after midnight on the day after the made up date. Quite impressive.

I personally wouldn't regard that as any more impressive than generating a penalty warning 30 days (or whatever) after the due date! :-)
Personally, I haven't noticed. But then, I don't provide a registered address service, and no longer rely on clients telling me their return/ statement is due!
All company clients are on InformDirect (others are available) so I can see from the dashboard what is due (and when) with a green, amber, and red code. Email reminders come from there and I handle all (well most) CoSec matters (inc. dividends, resolutions, minutes) from the platform! The only issue I have is that it is not possible to send e-sign requests from the system!
We use Inform Direct as well. Relatively cheap, and the interface is great for deadline reminders on both confirmation statements and stat accounts.
And they send us reminder emails, regardless of where the registered office is (we don’t provide a reg office service)
Another vote for Inform Direct, makes life so much easier with everything in one place and not having to use CH's website is just an added bonus
Submit the outstanding confirmation statements and the strike off action will be discontinued.
You should check that the filing of the accounts is not late
