Companies House webcheck and Direct to close

A true loss indeed

Didn't find your answer?

Finally, we will soon say goodbye to the Companies House webcheck as well as Companies House Direct. For those who need a refresher on what Webcheck used to look like:

Given this: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/
is better, no great loss.

Times move on. Forget about it.....

Are there things we can no longer do then?

The biggest issue is with searching for previous or dissolved names. Webcheck and Direct were both infinitely more user-friendly in that aspect.

There are also some search results which dont come up on the 'new' one, which do on others. I have just searched a company that was dissolved in 2008 which cannot be found on the new/beta version, but can on webcheck.

Didn't (almost) every document used to cost £1?

Whereas the new facility is free.
