Formed a new Ltd company on 8th April, it's still pending. Anyone expierenced a delay in forming lately? It's usually taken 3 or 4 days previously.

I've never had it take more than two days, at ten days I think I'd be contacting Companies House because it seems there may be an issue with some part of the incorporation.
Was there anything unusual in the structuring? Or name?
That may be your issue. If the company is completely standard I usually do it myself, charging the clients for my time costs about half of what a formation agent charges and means I keep control of the process with minimum delays built in.
I've contacted the formation agents. I'll await a reply. It does seem odd though.
Why use an agent? Online process is quick, easy and the only cost is the Companies House fee.
For the same reason that a business owner may use an accountant. Even more so when you have multiple classes of shares, shareholders agreement, or any other non-standard requirement.
I do agree that for a very basic formation there is little added benefit of a formation agent, but even so for the sake of £15 or something it’s not a biggie.
Formed one through an agent last week on a same day service, submitted at 1pm, formed at 5pm.
Submitted one myself directly with Companies House on Friday about 2pm, was formed about Saturday midday.
So seems okay at the moment, but I know they do sometimes have a backlog.
