Hello
I would like to file a complaint against a local Chamber of Commerce. Ideally, outside the local Chamber of Commerce.
I do not think an internal complaint would work because of cosy relationships within the Chamber board members. I know, I did need to go through the internal process first.
My question is there is an outside body whom the board is accountable to and who would have an impartial view of my complaint?
Thanks

Why would it be accountable to anybody outside its members? If you have an issue you can presumably raise it at the AGM. Frankly, I think you'd be wasting your time.
I imagine you've already looked here
https://www.britishchambers.org.uk/
I don't imagine that there's an "Ombudsman" type situation but, you might find some direction, via the organisation?
Would you care to share the nature of the complaint?
All that ever seems to go on at our local Chamber is get togethers of struggling law firms, BMW dealerships, reps from banks and MLM sellers.
Can I ask what the issue is?
I have tried thinking for 20 minutes how you could fall out or have issue with the local chamber.
But come up a total blank.
Its basically a networking group you pay £400 to be a member of. They send you newsletters and invite you to stuff.
If you don't think its worth £400 just don't renew it, not sure on why you would want to report anyone.
Unless they have maybe blackballed Firstab
First Tab - the silence is deafening and, in many ways, once again, I'm wishing I hadn't taken part.
Lesson learned - once again.
You old tease you
Is like the ones where you complained to the tax helpline for not doing all you client work for you?
