Confirmation statement changes

I'm Chairman of our breed society and am struggling to find detail for a board meeting tomorrow

Didn't find your answer?

I am chairman and company secretary of our sheep breed society which is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity, with currently, 700 odd paid up members.  Our accounts are made up to 30 September each year and our confirmation statement is made up to 18 March.  The 2023 accounts will be adopted at a board meeting tomorrow and I will need to let the other directors know what the changes will mean to them.

I am struggling to find an example of the new confirmation statement online, and also the new appointment of directors form. Presumably there are also examples of approved documentation as proof of address somewhere (photo ID isn't an issue, they all have driving licences and/or passports).

I know for a fact that some of the board members are also directors of other companies and will ask whether they will have to go through the same rigmarole for each of them or is there a plan to give directors a unique companies house ID?

Any pointers much appreciated!

Does this help Confirmation statement from 5th March 2024.

I did read on another website that changes to verifying identity will require secondary legislation and changes will be announced shortly. So the paperwork may not be in place yet.

The verifying identity requirement is not yet in force:

Thanks, both, for the useful links. My term as chairman ceases at our AGM the last Saturday in April. I stay on the board as immediate past chairman for another year, then that's it. I will have spent 15 years on the board out of the 30 years I've been a member!

Another board member is taking over the cosec role!

".. is there a plan to give directors a unique companies house ID?"
It's been suggested to them, but wasn't met with open arms ('it might be worth considering downstream' doesn't bode well).

With regard to "the board members (who) are also directors of other companies", the only immediate impact is on new company formations.
Whilst there is indeed an intention to apply these checks retrospectively, there is as yet no 'plan' for when or how this will happen - other than a passing reference to it happening over a period of time (possibly a lengthy one)!
