Consequences of LLP strike off

LLP dissolved but client did not know

Didn't find your answer?

Cutting a long story short, a client has had an llp struck off without being aware of it. At the date of dissolution, the llp was inactive but had a very small amount in the bank, a creditor and an intercompany balance. Since the strike off, the bank account has been cleared out (it was never frozen surprisingly), the creditor submitted another invoice and VAT returns were made and paid/recovered accordingly (the VAT only related to matters to do with the creditor).

Everybody is now aware of the situation. The creditor can be sorted out elsewhere in the group so it just seems that the Crown has lost out on the bank account and the intercompany account.

Question: What are the potential consequences and the suggested best course of action?
