Construction Furlough

Is COnstruction eligible?

Didn't find your answer?

Is anyone aware of a Government Notice (apparently published today) that states the Construction sector are not eligible to claim via the Government furlough scheme? I'm talking PAYE employees not Subcontractors etc

Thanks

This is in the 'A man down the pub said ......' category.

You know it's rubbish because all the pubs have been ordered to close at present.

Thought as much!

This was an notification from my employer today, whilst I am currently furloughed!

Thank you!

If you are already in Furlough you must have agreed a change in contract with your employer. Irrespective of whether they are entitled to reclaim the costs of paying you whilst in Furlough, they have an obligation to continue to pay you in accordance with your contract until such time as your contract is terminated or they bring you out of Furlough.

Paula makes a good point and these issues are being confused.

People need to distinguish between:-
a) What the employer & employee have agreed that the employee will be paid whilst furloughed &
b) The amount that the employer can claim under the CJRS.
