Bit of a long story but please bear with me - I am hoping the answer is very simple:
Client had accountant A for several years but switched to accountant B in July / Aug.
I thought client understood everything A did and would transfer to B but seems there was some breakdown in communication somewhere along the line & payroll was not done after that point. Sole director, no other employees.
Client has submitted CIS returns every month though not paid.
Accountant B is now sacked (deservedly so, very long story about year end due 31 Jan being late). Accountant C is in process of being instructed but in the meantime, I have discovered HMRC dashboard on PAYE for Employers is full of specified charges from Month 5 to M12. Client understandable wants to avoid any interest / penalties etc & submit & pay all dues by 19th April.
How do I find out whether it was an FPS showing under NI threshold OR whether it was a nil return EPS every month when accountant A was doing it.
Client says he did not receive payslips (might have, might not) and there is little hope of any good will from Accountant A.
I THINK it was probably the NI threshold amount. but I don't want to make it any worse by getting it wrong! Thank you.

If you are in AOSS beta, you can check online the value of FPS submissions (but not the detail). In which case, just get authorised.
