Corp Tax computations on Taxfiler

Taxfiler doesn't compute Corp Tax due

Didn't find your answer?

Search AccountingWEB

Hi, I have prepared accounts for a small UK Limited company using Taxfiler and it's ready to file, (P&l, Balance Sheet etc) I have manually worked out the Corp Tax due but do I need another software to file the Corp Tax computations?  I know when I use Accountancy firms for companies I work for they always send this information separarately. Apologies if this question offends all you very informed and qualified accountants but the amounts are so small this individual cannot afford to appoint an accountancy firm.

No - you should have Corporation Tax within Taxfiler already.

You need to "Create Return", then attach the accounts and enter up your manual computation onto the software.

Taxfiler does the computation for you. You will find a tab for that. Once you link the accounts to the tax return, you only need to take care of any adjustments, i.e. capital allowance, disallowed expenses, etc.
When you download a copy you can also download a copy of the tax computation

Great thank you, I have Draft Accounts ready but can't see that tab but assume when I mark as final that will be an option.

No - it won't.

You need to set up a new return by clicking on "New Return".

From the home page Returns > New Return > Choose client

Yes it will sort of. Once you mark the accounts as approved you can create the tax return and transfer the accounts with a couple of clicks from within the accounts module.

Ah - right. Interesting. I've never done it that road round.

Thank you again for your valued information, I have just completed the filing. I normally don't use Taxfiler for Limited Companies but I have learnt something today!
