Corporation tax losses c/back claims

Corporation tax losses c/back claims

Didn't find your answer?

Is anyone else having trouble getting Corp tax losses carried back and processed? It used to happen quite easily. I would amend the PY CT600 and submit it and it would be processed. How do you get HMRC to process them? I thought they wanted digital submissions I assume to automate things or speed it all up?  Phone calls do nothing to make it happen.

Apparently it needs a human to press the ‘approved for action’ button. Last one I did was in Feb, got processed in July.

We now make the claim online with HMRC (not amending CT600) and takes about 2 weeks for refund cheque to turn up (don't think can get refunded direct into the client's bank account)

I had a 3-year carry back processed within about 3-4 weeks without filing extra forms. The claim for the same client for last year's one year carry back has never happened. I haven't been able to get through on the phone, hence my post earlier this year.
