Corporation Tax Repayment Claims by Post

How long are people waiting?

Didn't find your answer?

I submitted one of these due to loss carry back, almost seven months ago, but have had no response.  I believe this is not unusual.  (I couldn't use the online service for the temporary extended loss carry back provisions, because the loss in question fell outside that period.)

The HMRC Service Dashboard boasts a normal service at present, with a response time of 30 days.

What are other AWebbers experience of response times for this specific issue, please? (I am not asking about VAT or SA or PAYE; just this.)

If you don't chase it, it may well be that nothing will happen. If you send a chasing letter after a couple of months, then a threat of a complaint a month later, then an actual complaint a month after that, then a threat to escalate it to the adjudicator after a further month, you might get it done within a year. I have had to do exactly the above several times over the past two years.

I tend to use this way to chase refunds if after a couple of phone calls nothing has happened

I have never used it so I am interested as well
Nobody should need it if HMRC could their job even only 10% as well as they expected their 'customers' to do theirs

99% success rate. No matter what the problem they always seem to sort it.
I have been using it a few years now, even before lock down

We had been getting recent ones in a month or two with a phone call a week after its gone in.

Earlier this year it was 6-9+ months with numerous contact points.
