Correct shareholder's name

Need to change shareholder name at Companies House

Didn't find your answer?

A client is having a problem with a "Computer says No" bank because one of the shareholders has been recorded at Companies House with his initials rather than full name. The initials have failed to have spaces or full stops between them so it looks like another name. e.g. instead of  F. R. E. D. Jones, it is shown as FRED Jones. The shareholder is not a PSC.

I wasn't anticipating a problem updating the details to the full name but I seem to be struggling. Any pointers before I ring Companies House?

Just file a confirmation statement early with the correct name. Job done.

The problem (not a big one I grant but an irritant nonetheless) is that it changes the Annual Review date and they seek a fee even though additional filings in a year are meant to be free.

CH say there is no online way around this and that I need to submit a CS01 on paper with an RP04 (and presumably a PR03 as well). Quite ridiculous.

Are they right or is there a proper online way of doing it?
