CPD- Reflect, Act, Impact document

Template

Didn't find your answer?

Does anyone have or know if the ICEAW has a template for documenting Reflect, Act, Impact when completing annual CPD booking and review?

It was picked up at our last QAD and I am booking the courses for the year so should get on top of it.

Thanks

Never thought about it. It's just common sense.

Go on courses which match the work you do. Or intend to do.

I had this years ago now at a Practice Assurance visit. It wasn't that long after the rules on CPE/D had changed.

When the inspector asked about this, I said that my needs were essentially re-active: as a sole practitioner I needed to stay on top of my current knowledge base and anything else was driven by clients wanting some specific advice which I would mug up as and when required. She said that was fine and simply to say that on top of the annual recording form, so that's what I did and have done since.

Hi Stats, can I be cheeky and hijack your thread for a second?
I'm a CIMA qualified and am starting up a management training company.
CIMA allows CPD on a wide variety of topics such as soft skills, team building etc. Is that the case with ICEAW?

"Soft skills" are considered inappropriate in Yorkshire.

Used to hate doing them as an employee. Kept thinking “how will a Tax reminder course help me? Errr”.

Probably should introduce them for my employees- pass the pain on etc.

I said similar, however the reviewer said that we had to have it documented. I document the courses, date, number of hours etc and select the courses on what the needs of the practice are but I don’t write a report stating reflect, act, impact etc

There's an online form members can use. Mercia's Practice Assurance manual has a useful template.

ICAEW have a way of recording it, yes. I use it and its great for recording but a bit cumbersome to print if you ever need to. Follow the link and login. Look for recording CPD.
