CT online service availability status?

And now for something completely different (to the recent MTD VAT problems) ...

Following on from the recent issue with extended downtime for submitting (or looking up) MTD VAT submissions (see https://www.accountingweb.co.uk/any-answers/for-info-hmrc-vat-system-down ) it looks like HMRC have lost faith in their software maintenance abilities.

Yesterday they announced "Planned downtime from 5pm on Friday 19 March 2021 to 9am on Monday 22 March 2021" for the CT online service - but by this morning that message has been replaced by "The planned downtime from 5pm on Friday 19 March 2021 to 9am on Monday 22 March 2021 has been cancelled."

Assuming that the initial maintenance plan that would've taken over 2 days wasn't unnecessary in the first place, this suggests that whatever's going in the back-office systems at HMRC is not good news ... either for HMRC or for those of us trying to comply with deadlines.

Unless of course anyone knows more about what's really going on?
