We can delay filing of accounts at Companies House by 3 months, which is fair enough. However, several clients do like to withhold CT600s until the last possible day (I've no idea why, when they have to pay 3 months previous but that's clients for you). So this gives rise to some questions:
- Is anyone aware of whether the filing deadlines for CT600s remain rigidly fixed in stone or maybe we've had some guidance?
- Have HMRC suggested that filing late and claiming reasonable excuse - such as "the director couldn't sign the return because they're currently on a ventilator"? This assumes said director survives. After all, we shouldn't be filing returns without signatures and/or accounts.
- What are you going to do about it?
I've tried several times to speak with HMRC regarding this but, after 4mins 36 secs of listening to pre-recorded messages and selecting from various menus, you simply get "Sorry we can't deal with your call right now....Goodbye!".
I suspect I may have no worry about getting my hair cut by the end of this lock down
