CT600 software

CT600 software

Didn't find your answer?

Hi I am currently using Andica to prepare CT600 returns for my clients but dont find it the easiest software to use, it is particularly poor at coping with acounting periods longer than 12 months.  Does anyone have experience of other software they could recommend

Taxfiler is pretty good.

For periods over 12 months the workflow is:

1. Create first CT600 as normal
2. Enter accounts profit figure, adjustments etc
3. Tell the software the period of account is long and enter start/end dates. Profit will be apportioned by number of days within the accounting period.
4. Create new CT600 return. It will automatically create the correct length of accounting period based on the period of account. It will automatically bring the apportioned figures into the computation.

Thanks for that. I am not the OP but last time I did something similar I used Andica and it was a *** nightmare. Got one to do next month on TF so that's a big help

Which software do you use for your accounts?

Might it be worth consolidating the 2 into, say, TaxCalc to get efficiencies?

I use Taxcalc for Accounts production and Tax Return filing for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Companies and find it integrates well.

Taxcalc is very good and easy to use.

If you know what you are doing you can opt for HMRC pages, if you are not so certain you can opt for Simple Step which guides you through the process. And you can flip between the two options.

I changed from TaxCalc to Taxfiler about 5 years ago and have never regretted it. Taxfiler is excellent and copes easily with CT Returns for accounts covering longer than 12 months. Another poster has confirmed the time apportionment feature, but it can be edited too, so it is quite flexible. I can't comment on the current position with TaxCalc, because I am aware that like Taxfiler, the product has been enhanced over the intervening years.

Just to add that I was in exactly your position this time last year. I moved from Andica to Taxfiler and have never looked back.
