Can a deed of trust work to protect letting relief
For example, I have a client with a rental property that is eligible for PPR and letting relief. Their children are already dealing with the tenants on the property as parents are frail
The parents were one week away from exchanging contracts which would be the normal CGT disposal date but the virus has hampered proceedings. The Sale maybe completed after 5th April assuming house prices don't crash !
Trying to figure out how to protect letting relief and ensure its not preceived as tax avoidance. Perhaps through deed of trust and transferring the beneficial interest to their children ? Changing the legal ownership maybe more cumbersome
