I attended an HMRC webinar on CJRS re SEISS and was taken aback when one of the slides showed that the VAT due March 2020 will need to be paid by 30 June 2020. I took a screenshot as I thought that was wrong. The slide shows "no need to make a payment (due March 2020) until June 2020".
The website at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/deferral-of-vat-payments-due-to-coronavirus-... states quite clearly "If you choose to defer your VAT payment as a result of coronavirus, you must pay the VAT due on or before 31 March 2021."
Cofusing or what?

I thought it was March 2021?
Could it be the slide was saying you do not need to pay the 31 March one (originally due on 7th May) until March 2021 but the 30 June 2020 one will be payable as normal by 7th August, as from memory the postponement was in relation to only one vat quarter?
Edited for typos/clarity
Listen carefully to what she says.
If the PAYMENT is DUE between March and June.
(Then you can defer until 2021).
Better looking at the legislation anyway.
Doesnt really matter what the slide said as it has to be taken in context of what was said, which was clear.
June 2020 for repayment is incorrect -that is what I said!
