Difference between IRIS and IRIS Elements

Looking to switch from CCH to IRIS ELements

Didn't find your answer?

Hi all,

I am looking to switch from CCH early next year. I was using IRIS previously but then decided to switch due to high prices of IRIS. Now however IRIS has come up with Elements and I would like to know more about it. Is Elements same as desktop based IRIS? What are the differences if any? I checked their online video and it seems we have to add an already prepared trial balance in order to prepare accounts. If that's the case, then what about clients who don't use bookkeeping software and don't have a trial balance? Currently for such clients we just do the bank rec on excel and post the total values on CCH. Does Elements have this facility or is there any alternative?

Any pointers appreciated.

Thanks

You definitely don't have to have an already prepared TB, I've never done that. I just key in the figures into the relevant heading on the software/screen

Iris is desktop/on prem. Iris Elements is their cloud equivalent - still a WIP

When I (briefly) tested Iris Elements it bore no resemblance whatsoever to their desktop version. If it had basically been a cloud version of their full desktop suite I would have been very tempted to switch to it, but it wasn't.
