Digita Vs Iris

new software provider

Didn't find your answer?

Sorry I know that this has been asked before but we are currently looking to leave our software provider (we have been with them for 25 years but have now outgrown them). We are a 4 partner firm and have narrowed our choices to these 2. Digita seems to be able to provide a more flexible product that we need for our more specialist areas but are concerned by some of the reviews. Any advice greatly appreciated

Digita technical support are quite good - but very busy.

The main reason for this is that the accounts production software suitable for FRS 102 (laughably called Accounts productions 'advanced') is light years behind the 'old' accounts software. It's also unstable, slow, and generally a complete pile of [***] if I'm to be brutally honest.

If you've got any sense you'll go for IRIS. Shame really, as Digita tax software is actually very good (even if their idea of an integrated suite falls quite short of IRIS' interpretation of integration).

We've recently moved from IRIS to TaxCalc. For our needs IRIS was just way too expensive. But we are a one partner practice so can deal with smaller software suites.

Having said that, their accounts production module was very flexible - if very slow and user unfriendly. Their company secretarial module was very well implemented, but again very user unfriendly.

For the size of business you have and if you want an integrated solution which just works would recommend IRIS.

It is expensive in £ terms but view it as cost per client or % of GRF and then it doesnt seem expensive.

We pay about £30 per client and 3% of GRF for IRIS.
