If two directors meet in a restaurant for a directors meeting can the price of the meal be claimed for?

They are the directors. It's up to them what policy they decide on for what they can claim as expenses.
Thank you Tim and Jane,
..we meet when we are both working in London and have the director's meeting at a restaurant ( not the Ivy) max meal total around £30.
You're not getting it, Becca. You must tell the panel...
(i) Is working in London a regular occurrence for either director, and does that involve substantial travel?
(ii) What exactly goes on at those directors' meetings?
(iii) What's wrong with The Ivy?
Becca also still needs to ask the right questions too.
You should have appreciated that with your "very particular set of skills".

Yes, Jane had already made reference to that.

I have no idea to which particular skills of mine you allude, or for that matter who you might be quoting; but I'll raise my glass anyway.
btw there's no 'e' in tasty.
I recently saw a prune that looked like Liam Neeson. I think. Or perhaps it was the other way around.

You mean Liam Neeson saw a prune and thought it looked like you?
If you are travelling on business then both the travel and subsistence are deductible. If this is an ordinary commute then the staff entertaining is deductible but there is a benefit in kind (or it could count towards your £300 per annum trivial benefits). Maybe going to the Ivy would be stretching subsistence (although I recall the food was quite minimalist or maybe I was too busy star spotting to eat).
