Divisional Accounting/trading

Divisional Accounting/trading

Didn't find your answer?

Hi,

Is there any problems with setting up a company so it has different trading divisions (related but not the same activities) so it just produces one set of accounts and annual returns etc but we internally can analyse internally the divisional performance. What about invoicing clients, can you do as XXX Ltd - A division or does it have to just XXX Ltd

I've worked for companies with Divisions before now but they have already been set up before I got there but I'm not sure about setting it all up.

Thanks

Lee

Sounds OK

I think what you're suggesting is absolutely fine. As regards invoices, you can use the divisional name as the principal logo, but you must also state somewhere the full registered company name. All business letters, order forms, and websites can show the divisional name, but must state the company's name, the part of UK in which registered, registered number, and address of registered office. If your business letters name any directors (other than as signatory), then they must name them all.
