Do we have to register for CIS?

Didn't find your answer?

Hi

as a ltd company doing building work solely for the public, am I correct in thinking we dont have to be registered for CIS? Its a small family business of three, no other employees.

I have tried to call the CIS helpline but the wait is so long!

Many thanks in advance for any advise

If you are solely working for Jo/e Public then you do not need to register as a sub-contractor for CIS. If the only people working for you are your employees, then you do not need to register as a contractor for CIS.

You have not said whether you use subcontracted labour. If you do, speak to your accountant for further advice.

Thanks for your response. No we don't subcontract labour.

Always useful to register as a subcontractor
Once done it is done forever
