Does temp job prevent SEISS claim

Self-employed takes temp job - can he still claim SEISS grants

Didn't find your answer?

My client is self-employed, but his work stopped due to Covid. He has taken a temporary zero hours contract until he can return to self-employment. Does this prevent him for claiming the 4th and possibly 5th grants ? (He intends to go back to self-employment when covid eases)

Guidance is here:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/self-employment-income-suppor...

The conditions are somewhat tightened compared with earlier rounds of the subsidy.
But I see nothing in there that suggests that employment income would disqualify you client.

Not a problem
Self-employed income down is one of the qualifying conditions that must be correct
