Dormant Limited Company and CT600

Does a Dormant Company need to file CT600

New client set up a Limited Company just over 12 months ago; it has never traded and they want to close the Company down.

We are going to file Dormant Accounts for the year ended 30th April 2019 then dissolve the Company for them. Do they also need to file a CT600

If a notice to file has been issued then yes - kind of.

The cleanest way is to write explaining that the co has never traded and asking for the notice to be withdrawn. You can do this at the same time as you send a copy of the DS01, and request that they do not object to the striking off.

Or just get it struck off, hope for the best, and if they object and/or issue a penalty, then sort it out.
