Eat Out to Help Out - best comment so far?

Eat Out to Help Out - best comment so far?

Didn't find your answer?

From Nichola Ross Martin:

And when you take into account that nearly 30% of our population is obese (and I am guessing that this statistic will have worsened during the lockdown), can we really eat our way out of this crisis?

I cant mention the best comment I have seen, but "Eat out" certainly had a different meaning when I was a teenager and according to the urban dictionary seems to have retained its meaning to this day.

You're not alone, I thought it was an odd choice of words too...

In a similar vein and perhaps more obscure, but Slush Puppy ran an ad campaign when I was a teen that just said 'Fetch' under a tub of slush. That word had a specific meaning to me and my friends and it wasn't one I wanted to associate with a drink... though at least it wasn't Frijj or Muller that used the slogan I suppose...

I have seen so many alternative names for this initiative based on that very same other meaning.

I think the best was the two word "[long word beginning with c for that act] economicus".

Great initiative. First thing during this wretched ordeal that's put a smile on my wife's face. Says her personal trainer Rodrigo loves to eat out. No doubt she'll be joining him on his regular noshing sessions as they did pre-lockdown! It seems a bit counter intuitive to carb load to me, but she insists that he gives her a thorough enough workout to burn the calories. I sometimes think I should crash their party, but my wife says eating out has never been my strong point. I'd argue, but something about it has always left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

I'm not really a fan of eating out but the missus enjoys it so every so often I'll treat her and hopefully I'll get something back in return.
