EC sales lists

Didn't find your answer?

Please can others advise how they submit EC sales lists. Do you submit from your VAT agent account or from your ASA or on paper?

If you submit a paper form then is there a generic form or can you only use the form sent to the client?

Thanks

we submit using our "old" agent account, some with a few customers we fill in the online form, others with many customers (amazon sellers) we submit a csv

never really understood the earlier deadline than the VAT return and we are almost always late submitting, I guess that will be the one good thing about Brexit!

I can't recall ever being fined for late submissions of ECSL, but I only do our 'own' rather than a clients.

I am usually late-ish, because it tends to follow on from finishing month end. (and I don't like doing them :))

From MTD agent account, straight from Sage using the button in the VAT module and checking that Sage has picked them all up (although I don't have too many to check - that would be a pain if there were loads).

How do you get access to EC sales on the MTD account? Probably just being blind, but it is so needlessly convoluted.

Sorry, I didn't phrase that well - I meant that Sage fills the form in, and then it submits via the MTD account in exactly the same way that it submits a Return.

And you don't need to activate anything on the MTD account to allow the submission of EC Sales (assuming already registered on old agent account)?

I couldn't swear to it at the resulting FTT but I really don't think I did.

Thanks all. I have a new client who requires this service but it is not available through my agent account. I was not registered for VAT when I set it up, I set up a new one but haven’t needed it and all clients and my ASA are linked to the original one and don’t want to change it.

I will submit paper forms until Dec 2020 and set the client up on my original account.

You can find form here
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/vat-ec-sales-list-vat101

It doesn't work with Chrome, but works with Edge
