Electric car contract in directors name

Contract hire agreement in directors name and not the company for an all electric car

Didn't find your answer?

The company had no credit score so the contract hire agreement was put into the directors name for an electric car. Is there any way to obtain tax relief for the payments, I think not but would like your thoughts please?

Similar questions arise regularly and I am pretty sure the answer is no. Obviously the director can claim business mileage from the company if he uses the car.

HMRC got stroppy about this and after the Apollo Fuels case it is now important to get the paperwork in the right names, otherwise HMRC will not accept it.
Safest to avoid claiming, even if it produces an unjust result.

Yes. I assume that when you say contract hire you mean contract hire?
