Electronic signature software

Any recommendations?

Didn't find your answer?

Does anyone use e-sign software for accounts and tax returns to cut out the hard copy postage process? I recently signed an agreement using Docusign and would love to use this approach to get client signatures on the accounts and returns. Does anyone do this? And how have you found it?

I use SignRequest https://signrequest.com/en/

Works exactly the same as Docusign and the rest but is about a third of the price - about £7 per month for unlimited signing and branded portal.

My tax & Accs software is TaxCalc and they have launched a signing add on but its much more expensive and you cant use it for documents not produced within TC which as a bit of an own goal.

Been using SR for about a year now, 100% positive feedback from my clients. No need for them to create an account which some signing software makes you do and just a simple email 'button' press to take you to the docs.

They have a free version you can try too.

I'm off to get a job with them as I think I've gone on too much :)

Using Sign Now" at £60 pa - though may be different due to exchange rate variations.
Works really well and great for non-local and overseas clients.

Have been using Adobe eSign for a good few years now. Easy to use portal and costs around £100-120 per year

We use Hellosign.

Costs about £10 per month.

Been using it for about 3 years.

Really easy to upload documents and really easy for clients to sign.

We moved from from Hellosign to IRIS Openspace, and although IRIS Openspace is easy to use compared to Hellosign it isnt as clients need to sign into portal and not clear what you are signing, so moved back to Hellosign and not had any problems since with clients using it.

Another vote for Adobe Sign.

One issue we found is that some clients didn't trust e-mails/contact with a provider that they didn't know, but most people had heard of Adobe.

There were also issues with some providers we tried when encoding the PDF Tax Return, so check this carefully before a full roll-out.

We use Signable.

I like it because of its simplicity, and it's much better than a few years ago when first looked at it.

We use Docusign and Digisign for general signatures; both are great and provide a full tracking audit of signatures obtained including IP address.

I use Iris Openspace too and find it works really well as a secure document exchange medium as well as a medium for approval by e-approval or e-signature.

Always amusing to see the signatures of those who have tried to do the signature with the mouse!

As someone said, it's free; but only if you use Iris software, which is very far from free! For my small practice I sometimes wonder why I use it when I see colleagues paying a fraction of what I pay for their software.

But it is good and, above all else, IT ALWAYS WORKS!

E signing should be a standard feature within any accounting practice software.

I was therefore pleased when Taxcalc added as A feature then very disappointed to note that they expect you to buy credits and pay on a per signature basis so I wont be using it.

Iris openspace it is for me or Accountancy Manager

If you send accounts or tax returns via Adobe or similar do you have to password protect them? I thought we would have to go through an online portal of some sort to satisfy the revised GDPR guidelines - or is this not the case?

I would agree with you. If it is not acceptable to send documents like accounts or tax returns by email then how can it be acceptable to use a service which sends an unprotected link to such documents via email.

I have tested a lot of e-signing packages and many fall at this hurdle . Some do allow a password to be set before accessing the document ( or require a client login) but you also need to watch that they do not send out a pdf copy with the final "document signed" email.

I use MyDocSafe as a portal, and also offers electronic signing .. it is very good to use and excellent response from clients, even ones I never expected would use it.. I also use BTC tax software and that links to it as well.

I signed up for Iris OpenSpace but to upload anything you need to subscribe @ £5 a month for 1GB space, otherwise unable to upload any documents...

I use Sign Request's free version as that's all I need.

Senta has electronic signing built in but I think the client area looks like something from the 90s so don't bother.

I am looking to use JotForm to integrate my information request and engagement letters into one process. This means I don't need to keep going back and forth and the sign up process should be a lot smoother.

e-sign.co.uk, 4 years now, easy to use, upload doc's, mark for signature (single or multiple) send, client opens link, reviews & signs. Downloadable signed doc with audit trail. Does the job (per tin..) and more.. (a lot of functions). We like it.
