Employer record of furlough payments

Where?

Didn't find your answer?

One of our client's furlough payments were paid into her personal account. She has closed the personal account in which the payment was transferred.

She does her own payroll and also claimed furlough DIY.

Is there a way we can find out the total amount of furlough pay her company received, outside bank statements?

Thanks

I don't suppose that she downloaded or printed off a copy of each claim? Some clients can be efficient ;-)

But Some Accountants Do "Ave "Em

I can still remember collecting books from a client in the 80s who had on his own initiative turned to using accounting software, posted everything into it, religiously taken day book printouts re sales and purchase ledgers but singularly failed to print details of sales ledger and purchase ledger account balances/ledgers , plus of course no nominal printouts or trial balance . (With of course no backup up and the year end process had been run)

Not sure if its still accessible but if your client logs in to her tax account then follows the links for job retention scheme they can view past claims.

Thanks just had a screen share with the client. There was no information about past furlough payments on her (company's) Business tax account under job retention scheme link.

All my client ones are still there ( or at least two of them are) All the way back to May 2020
But I am using the agent portal
Pretty confident that my own claims are still there, but would need daughter to log in to view them.

Just checked a client that DIYd
His are there all the way back to April 2020

Even if we do not do the Wages, I prefer to have a 64-8 in for all clients that do PAYE

I believe (but have never tried this) that the Employee can use their PTA to "check whether their employer made a CJRS claim using their details" - at least from Dec 2020 onwards.

Also, as others have hinted, one of the pre-requisites for making such claims was that the Employer would retain all associated documentation (calcs and claims) for at least 4 years ... so I'd hope (forlornly or not) that your client is compliant - otherwise potential repayment looms!

It is not that link

From the old screen

Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme
Read more about the Job Retention Scheme
If your client has furloughed their employees, you will be able to make a claim through the Job Retention Scheme on their behalf. You will need to be authorised to act on their behalf for PAYE purposes. You can check what information your client will need to give you to make a claim on their behalf (opens in a new window or tab).

"Access the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme"

Bottom line is the thing to press
Look on the old screen not the new dash booard

Then
Confirm client

"View previous claims"
