Error Message on HMRC agent log in

Didn't find your answer?

I can't log into my agent self assessment this morning on HMRC website. I'm getting a message that says

"Security check. Please wait, for security reasons HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) are checking that you are authorised to access this page."

I can't get past this it just times out eventually is anyone else suffering the same today or previously? I've checked HMRC website for downtime and service issues, no problems are showing which I know isn't reliable.

When I logged in I got the message "Sorry, you can't join the new tax agents service today. We're controlling how many people can join in a day and we've reached our limit.
Please try again any day from Monday to Friday. You can still use your usual HMRC online services." I then used the link to get through to my Agent pages.

I haven't seen that for a long time, though it used to be a common occurrence. I seem to remember it just magically clears itself.

To OP:

Yep, me too, earlier this morning.

But it only seems to be the SA service as I got onto my VAT page.
