What is the correct EU VAT rate I should pay as a non VAT registered consumer?

Didn't find your answer?

I'm having a home cinema system supplied and installed by a Danish based company at my home in the UK. I am not VAT registered and this a private purchase. Should I be paying the 25% Danish VAT on the order or the UK VAT rate? The Danish company is registered for VAT in Denmark and is a business.

(You do appreciate that this is a web site for accounting and taxation professionals, not private individuals.)

However, you have taken the trouble to post a question with a good deal of detail.
I would expect you will pay 25% Danish VAT on your purchase. Only if the supplier is also registered for VAT in the UK would you pay at 20%.

You could of course avoid paying Danish VAT.

To clarify (the OP being a guest, not a member)... "avoid" is good. It is good to avoid unnecessary air travel. The 'bad' word is "evade".
