Ex-client in liquidation do i have to provide info

Ex-client in liquidation do i have to provide info to solicitors?

Didn't find your answer?

Ex-client (limited company) has gone into liquidation. The insolvency practitioner got in touch and i informed him that we did accounts for him back in 2009 and not been paid until recently when he wanted further accounts done but we refused to due to lack of records. The IP left us alone. The Insolvency Service has appointed soliciors to look into the director and they have written to me wanting the engagement letter and when i did the work for him and who was responisble for the accounting entries etc. I was a sole trader at that time but have been trading as a limited company myself for last 5 years (although the solicitors letter is addressed to me personally and mentions my company name (with out the Ltd bit) do i have to provide info to them?

I would think that a proper course of action would involve you first taking legal advice (which you will undoubtedly have to pay for), rather than relying on (the potentially half-arsed) responses here.

I had a similar situation recently. I notified my PI insurers and they engaged a solicitor to advise me.

Lots of questions were asked which seemed designed to "frame me" as a shadow director. Nothing came of it in the end but it cost me nothing.
Even the directors had no sanction after matters were concluded
