Expenses Benchmarking - accomodation (Hotels)

how much for a Hotel on business travel?

Didn't find your answer?

Hi all

I am doing a benchmarking excercise for my company and wondered if anyone would share what their experience is of what amounts companies they have worked for (or know of) allow their empolyees for hotel accomodation (when travelling for business) both outside and inside London?

many thanks in advance

The most recent expenses policy I read was £130 per night inside London and £80 per night outside of London.

Hope that helps.

I'll include this https://www.statista.com/topics/3146/hotel-industry-in-the-united-kingdo... in any case, always assuming that you've already taken a look?

There are no easy answers to this. Premier Inn advertise rooms from £29.50 - but should you want one in Manchester tonight, it could cost you over £100. Plus breakfast. Plus WiFi. Plus (in some cases) parking.

I've previously worked with a policy that gives indicative amounts, suggests recommended chains and allows for manager discretion when authorising spend. Most hotels have dynamic pricing; demand and prices may be driven by factors you're completely unaware of.
