EYU and HMRC software

EYU needed

Help?! For some reason the info on my client HMRC account for PAYE was wrong for Oct 17.  HMRC have suggested client files an EYU to update their system.  I use Moneysoft, EYU not possible so I'm supposed to set up using Basic PAYE tools - great....  Is there another way?  Do we have to do this?  Why can't HMRC accept my RTI submission receipts?

I have no idea why HMRC account does not mirror my Moneysoft RTI submission for this particular month - is it really up to us to resend HMRC this info?  (NB I haven't yet spoken to HMRC about this (client has been liasing), they had 17 (can the HMRC software support that many employees?) people on payroll during 17/18 - that is a lot of data to input.

Advice/work arounds?

First step is to contact the dispute team.
[email protected]
give them the year and paye references
they will send you a spreadsheet showing what they have recorded. It may be that the employers allowance was claimed/unclaimed, or other liability was changed. Once you have identified the wrong entry you only have to correct the errors. using Basic Tools. You don't re-input every empployee

Thank you, I have just emailed HMRC. I shall see what they send back through.

Allegedly I have one too, but I know our submissions were correct. The problem is at their end but they won't admit it . . . yet. They have asked me to do an EYU. I'm not doing it. I am not prepared to correct an error I have not made.

Bang on. I'm in the same position and am doing the same, i.e. nothing.

Wish I’d seen this thread last week - we’ve just had to do 3 EYU due to HMRC [***] ups - 2 for the same client (payroll & Tronc)! Made us look like tools.
