EDIT: I just found this post on AW after I posted mine which addresses the same issue
Facebook wants FCA registration | AccountingWEB
-------
I am a sole practitioner focused on the Spanish speaking sole trader market in the UK.
I created a FB page a year ago. My business category is "Accountant" on FB.
The return on investment has been great as I got 10 sole trader clients who found me there, with zero money invested in advertising from my side.
I was also contacted by A LOT of people with business ideas such as "starting to sell on ebay" or "selling food from home" which I had to decline after spending some time on the phone, but I take it as part of the job so no complaints.
Anyway, I was thinking of investing in paying for ads on FB to check if there are different results to not investing at all.
My surprise came when FB is asking me to be registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) otherwise they don't allow me to pay for ads.
They say "anyone offering financial services or similar to the FB members should be registered". They seem to include accountants on the same group than investment advisors, mortage advisors and lenders.
Has anyone been able to pay for ads on FB without registering on FCA?

Afternoon - I was OP of other post.
I messaged FB and they told me to ignore their communications, which I did and all was well. It seems the humans there appreciate we are not investment businesses even if the AI doesn’t!
