Like many practices my firm is registered under the Exempt Professional Firm scheme.
It means we are on FCA register but the number is "ACCA nnnnnnnn"
Meta / Facebook wants a FCA registration number to allow adverts to continue to run.
However it only seems to recognise full FCA registrations not Exempt Professional Bodies.
Has anyone come across this / have a work around? Needless to say chat with a representative is proving painfully fruitless.
Amyway to make Facebook realise we are an accounting / tax practice and not an investment business?

Just received similar request so interested in any solution found.
I saw that, the easy solution was not to use them anymore as an advertising medium.
I wouldn't have any faith in Facebook's advertising system, and I would imagine there will be zero human element dealing with this.
After only a few very basic promoted posts on our page, the account was auto-flagged as restricted. After continued efforts trying to deal with the account review system, which failed because of a known-to-Facebook issue of 2-factor codes failing to send out, the account became permanently banned from posting ads after 30 days, with no further route to reinstate.

Word of mouth recommendations (in fact anything involving humans) will be more effective for professional services than any 'social networking' site!
I have encountered the same issue. However when I did previously pay for advertising on Facebook I found it to be a complete and utter waste of money, so wouldn't be in a hurry to use it again in any case.
For some background reading on Facebook, I can recommend "Chaos Monkeys" by Antonio Martinez.
Not long ago I got a warning from Facebook and a post removed due to me using 'hate speech' according to them. The 'hate speech' I'd quoted was originally spoken by Glenda Jackson on a Morecambe & Wise Christmas special. It was 'All men are fools, and what makes them so is having beauty like what I have got'. Try explaining that to a (American) robot..
