Filling own accounts and corporation tax - help

I am looking for an accountant who can show me how to file my own accounts.

Didn't find your answer?

Update: Issue Solved. Accountant hired.

Hi, I hope everyone is well and safe. Please forgive me if I come to the wrong section or website.

I run my own small software company and I build websites and do online marketing for small businesses. I would like to start filing my own accounts and corporation tax. I seek someone's help who can show me how to file micro accounts and also help me fill my corporation tax. I am a part CIMA qualified (10 years ago) and my degree was in finance. However I went into IT, and now I would like to save some money and file my own accounts as well as my mother's retail store.

In return, I would happy to pay and/or help you with the website, social media strategy, ppc or SEO marketing. I am a Google certified analytics and search expert with an MSc in Web Data Sciences.

Best wishes,
Teja

Are you asking about how to file them? If so, where? If so have you already prepared them? If so, in what format or with what software.

Or are you asking about how to prepare the accounts from source records?

Thank you John, My accounts are prepared and I have a record of all the sales and invoices and any other expenses. All I need is help with filling them on companies house website because some of the naming conventions are confusing for me.

I also have my record corporation tax and I just help with the filling.

Best wishes,
Teja

I don't use any software at the moment due to awareness. I just created my own SQL database which I used to push and store the data in. It's very basic, sales, invoices, purchases, expense and any other expense.

Those sound like your accounting records, at the individual transaction level. As part CIMA qualified you must know the difference between statutory accounts and the underlying records they have been prepared from. You said you had prepared the accounts. They are statutory accounts compliant with the Companies Act and FRS 102 or 105 aren’t they?

Thanks, John, really appreciate your help and a few points that you raised. I had a private message with similar questions and a few suggestions. We have already started to work on cooperation tax filling this morning.

Best wishes

Speaking for myself, I see myself as an accountant, not a teacher.

I am actually quite offended that you expect someone to teach you and then you can do your mothers accounts to save money when you operate in different fields and accounts for an IT business is much simpler than a retail business. Also an accountant can make book-keeping easier if they have good knowledge of apps. A good Accountant does much more than filing. The importance of having an good accountant has come to the fore especially with the assistance many have given to their clients recently with the government initiatives on Covid-19

If accountancy was so simple then I wouldn't have bothered to go through three years training and pass exams.

I will surprised if you found anyone as first of all I am not going to get paid and have to go through the formalities. What happens if you misinterpret what I said and file incorrect accounts then you would come after me. I suggest you engage an accountant and then maybe you can sell some of your services to them. Who know is they can any clients from your SEO work they may give you hefty discount

I am sorry if you are offended. I meant no harm or hurt by asking the question. I am happy to remove my question from this website. Best wishes,

A curious request for return to a barter system: you do this for me I do this for you. While this was all the rage many hundreds of years ago it has its inefficiencies and has been replaced by something we call "money". So the idea would be if you need something from me you give me some "money" and if I need something from you, or from anybody else I can give them "money". You should try it.

The other issue with your system is that I generally charge a lot more than my local IT web design guy, so I'd have to need a lot of IT work doing to swap my services for yours. I'll pass.

What you are asking for is vastly more complex than you think. It would be massively quicker and easier for an accountant to just prepare and file the accounts and CT return himself rather than teach you how to do it.

Yeah. I saw that too. It looks like the right company given the user name but these have been filed.

If it is right, the OP doesn't need help. If it isn't, then he shares a name and location with someone else very close by.

Will you be to help with a website in return? I have prepared all the material I need to put on it - I just need help with the final stage of getting my material onto the internet so everything is done already. Probably an hour at most I would have thought?

You can't assume how long it will take just like non accountants assuming it's a simple job to file accounts.

Do you have a cms set up on your website? Or have you litterally just written articles?

Can't just cut and past words. There's a whole other system that needs adding and configuring before you even get to your written articles.

Hi, Of course, I will help you set up everything even if it is not returned. These days I am sitting at home and it would be great to speak to someone. Please private message me.

Thank you so much for help. I have now received quite a few private messages. I am already working on with one. I see that a minority of accountants were offended because of my question on help. I am truly sorry for that. I wish you good health and wealth.

Best wishes
