Final CJRS Debacle

HMRC have pushed us to the 'new' online trial service

Didn't find your answer?

Started work this morning and logged in to PAYE online to do one client's CJRS claim and found a long list of all our PAYE clients and no way to access any until I'd confirmed they were all still clients.  When I finally got through that I logged into one client and find HMRC have moved us over to the trial service, even though we have over 500 clients on our list.  There is no link to make a CJRS claim on there.  After many calls backwards and forwards to the online services helpdesk and the CJRS helpline all morning, the upshot is that the online services people say I can make claims by phone.  The CJRS people say that's a lie, no you can't.   I have about 30 more to do for August and whilst I know clients can do their own claims in the rare cases where they have already set up their own online access, they aren't going to be happy and its going to take a lot of calls to guide them through the set up process.

Has anyone else had a similar issue or know of any other solution

On the new system dashboard
Select PAYE
then
Find
" File a return"
Right hand side Under PAYE serices
Switches Page
Then UNDER your current client

"Your current client
Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme"
first in the list

They shifted every thing about

They moved the button
Took me a while going around looking for it last Friday

I was doing July

Thank you thank you thank you! Why on earth was the online services help desk unable to advise me of that. They obviously don't know their own systems.

They never do
HMRC could really use accountants to explain their (HMRC) changes to their helpline staff
HMRC do not respect their staff

I had a b1tch about it on the earlier thread

EDIT
Female dog

Aweb pretending that this is social network Twit book really is daft

I've been on the new system for more than two years, when it was introduced to a few agents, and discovered your method entirely by accident when faffing around trying to do the first JRS claim.

Thanks for that reply Paul. OP is my tax manager, and this was going to cause us a lot of problems.

I had this issue too. The link is there, but it's buried in the old system you can only get to by clicking one of the various links, which I can't remember now what it was.

Edit: just saw Paul has given the route. Brilliant will be bookmarking this for future reference.

I have always been on the new system and have had to use this link each month for CJRS since I can’t navigate there from PAYE online services.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/claim-for-wages-through-the-coronavirus-job-...

And when you are in the CJRS screen you can’t see the rest of the PAYE stuff for clients.

What is it with HMRC and navigation?
