This is not a question but more a comment.. Re the recent poll to find the professions favorite tax book/s, I wondered if anyone was using those published by FL Memo. I received 3 books a few weeks ago - tax, accounting and VAT, and having made myself a hot chocolate, and secured the sofa for about 3 hours, tocompare these to my Tolleys guide inc the Corp tax one, and CCH re capital allowances/VAT etc.
I was impressed - in fact more than impressed. The information was thorough /accurate and easily digestible. I still cart Tolleys Tax Guide round with me, as well as the Tax calculations manual, but these are ceertainly well worth the money - approx £240.00 for the three.
I would also recommend Tottel - the price levels are also good.

FL Memo
I agree - I have VAT 2007-08, Company Law 2008, Accountancy and Financial Reporting 2007. I also think they are excellent.
However, as a member of The ICPA we received Tottell's 2008-09 Tax, VAT and Corporation Tax books this October as part of our membership. I also opted for the remaining three core books Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, Trust & Estates, plus a CD with all six titles on for only £60 extra.
So next year I will purchase from FL Memo the 2009 Company Law and Accountancy & Financial Reporting books as these will fill the gap nicely.

FL Memo
I have been using the full set for the last 3 years and remain impressed.
Rarely buy anything from Tolleys these days due to them sending out several books that I did not order
Excellent books
I too think they're excellent books. Financial reporting and tax I purchased thorugh their website which gives you access to the website also.
Company Law I purchased via bookbutler.co.uk for just over £40 (new 2008) but obviously you don't get access to the website for that which may be a false economy perhaps.
