For your amusement

Another one

Phone call @ 10.00am today

"Will you do my tax return ( aggressive well educated voice) as I've fallen out with my accountant over mistakes he's made

Do you live locally - Yes but I'll have to do everything by e-mail

What is your trade/profession -Self employed ( in a terse voice)

To satisfy Money Laundering regulations I will obviuosly need documentation to establish your identity etc

Are you accusing me of being  a crook - No it's the law

Can you do my tax return ( very aggressive )

Yes -  next Friday

But I'll be fined - Yes but only £100."

Abuse then came down the phone and it was slammed down.

I contacted my competitors in town to find out that I was 3rd of 5 to get him

The other 2 have been tipped off

I actually enjoyed the call after realising I was not getting involved

I wonder who'll act for him - if anyone

What you have to ask yourself is why you were third?

You probably need to improve your Google ranking so you can get shouted at by more p****s.

And why neither of the other two tipped you off.

It's not a fine.

It's a civil penalty.

This is great. Well handled.

What if one of your competitors had admitted to being the dropped accountant?

Sounds similar to the types of calls I get - help the monthly wages are due in 3 days and I've only just realised we can't afford to pay them plus a bailiff has just turned up... ;-)

Yes it's a common theme.

Lots of Directors bury their heads in the sands and think we can magic a way out of it for them with no notice.!

You mean you have not read all the Harry Potter books,
the sequels,like

"Harry Potter and the CVA"

where the Weasley brothers' business cannot "charm" its way out of its financial problems after a dragon burns all its financial records.

Imagine J K Rowling having such a bad day in the office as that.

I've not had chance to read that one yet as I'm still reading Twlight No. 4 - 'A Vampire's Insolvency Diaries'

You know, the one where Edward gives Bella's Company an unsecured Loan for £250k and he is confused as to why he can't have the balance of his money back when it goes into Liquidation.

Then there is a whole chapter on and why the Liquidator is pursuing them both for the £20k preference she paid him back the day before Liquidation.

All's well that ends well though- as Jacob the Wolf eats the Liquidator and they all live happily and sparkly together.

I contacted an accountant who said he couldn't do my tax return 'til next Friday, even though I'm aggressive AND eduKated AND self employed.
I declined.

Bloody accountants........

Enjoy being wanted

Come next Friday we will be back to being irrelevant people muttering about tedious stuff, rather than highly skilled people who can fill in a tax return.

my website is working, it still has "We are not taking on any new clients for the 31st Jan deadline" on it, and the calls have been less than one a day.
