Fuji Scansnap IX500

Do they actually sell them at Xerocon and Accountex

Didn't find your answer?

I need a new Scansnap scanner but I am informed that the IX500 is no more replaced by the IX1500.

I see the Fuji people at Accountex & Xerocon etc with the scanners but do they actually sell them at the shows?

I recently bought an ix1500 & the best price I found was online from Amazon at £425 inc VAT. Next day delivery with Prime. saves lugging it about?

Interestingly, for those who own a Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500M, Fujitsu no longer support this model, so if you have a Mac and want to move onto the latest OS, then this model won't work due t the change from 33bit to 64bit architecture... unless you download for free the software for the IX500 and use that.
Now I haven't tried this yet on Mac OS Catalina, but it works on Mojave, and is supposed to be fine with Catalina ... I'll find out when I port across to Catalina ... and if it does work, then this is a darned sight better than having to fork out another £450 for a new Scanner.

ive still got an old vintage s500 working on windows 10 even though fujitsu say its doesn't work :), what do they know ?

cant remember what I did , I think it was using the ix500 install,
but I liked seeing the little filing cabinet icon folders of the original s500 so managed to install that as well :)

basically fujitsu want you to buy new hardware , but there are workarounds , if you google the problem you will find an enthusiast blog with all the tricks :)

definately buy s/hand , these are bullet proof machines ,

I still have an s500 ( and others) used and abused daily for 12 years without any maintenance issues , a complete 12 year office record in pdf

the ix500 software will run these and other early machines on win10 ( it might take a few hours , but its worth it)

fujitsu definately messed up making them so armour-plated ,

just buy s/h on ebay
