A small construction company has 5 employed staff on the tools supplemented by subbies.
whilst the employed staff have been furloughed the subcontractors are being used to carry out the limited work currently available.
This is on the basis that the Subbies are generally more senior and can operate self sufficiently.
This seems sensible to me and within the rules but it has crossed my mind that the Subbies may be getting paid as well as self employment grants as well as staff being funded on furlough.
Is the employer ok to claim furlough under these circumstances?
